reMIND

Well, it’s the 1st of September and I have a new goal.

Every month TopWebComics resets and all your hard earned votes go back to zero. So, I decided to be serious about voting this month. To prove how serious I am, I’m going to try to update the voting incentive twice a week to spur everyone to vote for reMIND. Today’s voting incentive is a new wallpaper I made for anyone who donates. To be fair to the donators, I’m only showing a medium sized version when you vote along with a watermark.

My goal with the incentives this month is to try to get into the top 25 on TopWebComics. Getting ranked high on this list is better than any advertising because most people only click on what seems popular before wasting their time digging down a long list. When I got into the top 50 a month ago, I started seeing around 25 new visitors a day from TopWebComics. The only way they could have found me was by digging through the top-list because I wasn’t advertising at the time. I have to admit, I’ve clicked on all the top 50 webcomics before just to see why they got so many votes.

Anyway, I promise to make an effort to update incentives this month if you keep voting. So here we go.

Yesterday was the deadline for the reMIND pin-up contest and I’ve been overloaded with submissions! Thank you to everyone who sent something in. It’s a treat for me to show them all, not only because it’s fun for me to see everyone’s vision of my characters but also because it’s giving me a break. Last week I was able to get about twice as much work done on reMIND.

Although it’s not ideal, I’m going to keep posting pin-up’s until they are all online before I start posting Chapter 3. BUT, if you want to see the line drawing version of the first page then vote for reMIND at TopWebComics and you can see it there. Click the thumbnail below to goto the voting page.

Another good reason for the delay is… well, I still don’t have the first spread of Chapter 3 finished. I was spending all my time working on the last 6 pages of chapter 3 and forgot all about the need to finish the first one. I tend to work on many pages at the same time. The good thing is, once I start posting chapter 3, I’ll be able to post every Monday, without interruptions, all the way to the end of the chapter. This will also take us to the end of the first book.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind with Kickstarter ending and collecting all the information from everyone. I’m still waiting for the money to clear and so I can have access to it. Most of the information has been collected from everyone now and only a handful of pledges had errors because their cards couldn’t get charged for some reason.

I’ll try to get back on track with articles and stuff once all the pin-ups are live. Thanks for all your patience and support so far. It’s been really fun seeing this grow at the rate it has.

For the next 2 weeks I’ll be posting a new pin-up everyday. I won’t make a new blog post for each pin-up so make sure and look at the image on the top left to see the newest pinup of the day. If you can’t see what I’m talking about then just go to the latest page in the comic to find the pin-up section. Sorry if it’s confusing.

“I’ve seen the Lizard Man” Shirts and Hoodies!

Because of the demand, I will be making a new reMIND t-shirt and hoodie.

Here is what I’m trying to make the hoodie look like. This is an Old Navy hoodie (which is not what it will be) but I’m trying to get something that looks similar. I’ll show more details when I get everything worked out.

Once I get an image of the exact hoodie, I’ll make another mockup and announce a pre-order button.  If you want one, make sure to join the mailing list. I’ll send out an email notification with a 10% discount for any order. There’s no web address on the back of either shirt. They don’t even say reMIND anywhere. I kinda like that because it has an “insider info” feel to it. If you meet another person walking down the street with this shirt, you will know just how crazy they are. But then again, they will know how crazy you are too.

Last call to reserve a copy of reMIND!

The Kickstarter pledge drive ends this weekend! I’m so blown away with the response and how much people have pledged already but we still have until Sunday to make a final splash. This is truly a dream come true. I had no idea how I would come up with the money to print reMIND, but because of all your generous support and faith in this project, I need to buy a rake. Yes, to rake all my cash into a barn for safe keeping until printing time.

If you haven’t reserved a copy yet, this is your last reminder. Remember that this will be the cheapest way to get a copy of reMIND. When the book comes out I’ll be selling it for $25 and probably charge another $5 for shipping so this is the best deal you will be able to get from me (unless you see me at a convention).

If you have any intention of buying a copy of reMIND after it comes out, I BEG YOU, JUST RESERVE IT NOW TO HELP ME COVER MY OVERHEAD COSTS!!! You don’t understand how helpful it is to have all the money up front to cover this stuff and it allows me to print more copies and pay for convention costs.
